Experience the Art of Dance and Drama with Kuchipudi Stage Shows

Nrityangana

What Defines Nrityangana?

Nrityangana, the Sanskrit word, means “a dancing lady”, but in our philosophy, it forms a spiritual aura where the ancient art of Kuchipudi breathes, and the divine notes of our dancers resonate with the echoes of tradition.

More than a dance school, Nrityangana is a sacred sanctuary through which the soul merges with the rhythm and exuberates an expression of God through the classical dance of Kuchipudi. We do not train for mere knowledge but to exalt our hearts and souls to the cosmic ambience around us.

Meet the Founder & Teacher

Our guiding light, Ms. Anuhya Naidu Mallepudi, a devotee of Kuchipudi for over 16 years and a teacher for 3 years. Her journey, born under the tutelage of Padma Shree awardee Ms G Padmaja Reddy, is a testament to belief, faith, devotion, affection, and an unyielding commitment to the dance. For Anuhya, Kuchipudi is not just a series of movements; it is a channel to express love and devotion to the Divine. She was awarded with distinction in the diploma course and is pursuing masters in Kuchipudi from the prestigious Potti Sriramulu University, Hyderabad. Her contributions to the world of Kuchipudi have garnered recognition and respect within the dance community, which includes Guiness’s book of world Records, “Maha Brinda Natyam”.

Anuhya’s journey began as a passion for Kuchipudi and blossomed into a life dedicated to mastering and imparting the beauty of this classical dance form. Anuhya’s teachings cover the entire spectrum of Kuchipudi – from the foundational adavus to the intricate expressions and storytelling elements. Her approach goes beyond physical movements, weaving in the historical, devotional, and cultural context to give students an understanding of the ancient connection to this art form. Her allegiance is not just to the art but to each student’s individual journey with Kuchipudi.

Our Founder Says

“It is my sacred space, where I immerse myself in the divine. It is the closest I have felt to God”

Meet our Guru

In the heart of Kuchipudi, Ms G. Padmaja Reddy stands as a motivation. Trained under Ms. Shoba Naidu, she has earmarked herself to the propagation and teaching of Kuchipudi. Her contribution retains the phenomenal visual dance form “Kakatiyam.”

Acknowledged with awards like Kala Ratna and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Ms. Padmaja Reddy’s journey reached its zenith in 2022 when she accepted the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award. Her distinction in Kuchipudi dance has left an indelible mark on its prosperous culture and traditions.

Our Guru Says

“I am just sowing the seed, nurturing and letting it grow is everyone’s responsibility. I consider the hurdles as my stepping stones and nothing would stop me from taking this art form to the people of Telangana.”

"My Guru, who loved teaching, taught me to love learning"
